March 2015

In like a Lion? Let's see about this great month full of green building excitement.

Greetings Advocates for Sustainability in our Communities!

I hope to see many of you this week at NESEA's BE15 in Boston. USGBC MA will be at booth 422 and we are holding two LEED education sessions tomorrow (see below).

Our advocacy work is kicking up - we are pushing for major improvements to clean energy, retrofit & resiliency financing, for better building codes, and for improvements to the distributed power grid & net metering. You can help us by connecting with your local district legislator - let us know if you want to be a part of our green building & sustainability promoting network. Also, please come to our forum on 3/19.

Thank you to our three new (joining in February) Sponsoring Partners: ICF International, ASSA ABLOY, and Chapman Design/Construction.

We are looking forward to many ways for your to connect with colleagues and to learn about the greening of our communities.

Come Learn about GPRO

USGBC Massachusetts is partnering with Urban Green Council to bring GPRO to Massachusetts. GPRO: Green Professional Building Skills Training is a certificate program that teaches the principles of sustainability & green construction to the people who build and operate buildings.

To launch this exciting initiative, we are holding an information session for local leaders in the building sustainability community. Ellen Honigstock, Urban Green's Director of

Education Development will lead this session and be available to answer any questions you may have.

We've reserved March 6th for this presentation. If you'd like to learn more about the curriculum and how this program can benefit your staff and contractors, please RSVP at this link. For questions about this informational session, please contact Steve Muzzy smuzzy@usgbcma.org
