Networking Night: the Summer Social

Come to Knoll at 281 Summer St in Boston on Tuesday, July 16th. We will start at 5:30 with a quick lesson on how to work a room with food and drink in one hand and a friendly handshake in the other. Take that new found confidence to the facilitated speed networking session immediately following. Even if you don't think you need an extra boost of confidence, join us for speed networking and meet someone you've never spoken to before.  Beginning around 6:15 the remainder of the night will be filled with informal conversation accompanied by good food and drink.

Regenerative Development and Design - Re-membering the Patterns of Life

This breakfast discussion introduces the practical and vital concepts of integrating technical and living system design. This is not as hard as it may seem; but it is a real change in the way we think. The current trend of making buildings, products and processes more efficient is simply the beginning point for the shift required to sustain life. In order to truly achieve sustainability, we will need to redevelop a conscious understanding of the whole system of life-giving processes that shape the places we live in order to reintegrate our buildings, ourselves-- and our communities --with life on Earth.

When: July 23rd, 2013 7:30 AM through 9:00 AM
Location: 281 Summer Street, 7th Floor, Boston, MA
Speakers: Bill Reed, AIA, LEED, Principal, Regenesis and Integrative Design Collaborative.  Jim Newman, Founder and Principal, Linnean Solutions

International EcoDistricts Summit - Call for Proposals Due 7/19

The 2013 Call for Session Proposals is now open. The USGBC MA Chapter is on the Host Committee for the 2013 EcoDistricts Summit and we are looking for program session proposals!

Join us in Boston November 12-14 for the EcoDistricts Summit, a can't-miss event for leaders who are shaping and building the cities and urban neighborhoods of the future. Each year the Summit convenes leading municipal policymakers, developers, business leaders, planners, and community leaders - people with decision-making power - to share best practices and shape the growing EcoDistricts marketplace. We invite you to shape the 2013 Summit by proposing an innovative education session.

Deadline for submissions is Friday, July 19. Please see our Proposal Guidelines for more information. Contact Teague Douglas at [email protected] with questions.
