Attendees at last year's Earth Day Celebration enjoying the ceremonies!
|
Greetings!
It has been a very busy month at the Massachusetts Chapter of the USGBC. Thank you for being part of our efforts to change the built environment.
April has more excitement: we have the big Earth Day Celebration and Awards Ceremony on the 10th, in downtown Boston. Tickets are going fast. I urge anyone who has recently completed a green design project to look at our Innovation in Green Design and our Best Green Building of the Year awards. I hope you will scroll through the past years' winners (below) in this newsletter - we have a good history of recognizing and supporting innovation in green design here at USGBC MA.
We are in the middle of the hiring process for our second full-time employee: the Green Schools Program Manager. This position, funded by the USGBC, will manage a series of programs to faciliate more green buildings in Massachusetts.
Our membership drive is going smoothly: We set a goal to bring in 100 new members before the Earth Day event. We only need another 18 people to join - so if you've been listening but bashful about joining, please take the plunge! We want to grow this organization and our collective impact on the industry.
I hope to see you at some of our upcoming events. Take a look at our calendar to see our many opportunities to come together to learn and to socialize.
You can connect with us on facebook, through LinkedIn and tweeting @usgbcma - and connect with each other which may even be more fun!
Thank you for your involvement!
Grey Lee
