When you and your colleagues form a union you will have the right to negotiate a contract that defines the conditions of your workplace, your salary increases, your benefits.

While you are on a break today...
and you are pondering  your "total compensation package" ...you can explore your curiousity about President Sullivan's salary or anyone else's?

Also of interest:
United Academics has put together a graph demonstrating faculty salary increases vs. the upper administration salary increases from 2003-2013. Of particular interest are the continued increases for the administration salaries during the years of "serious budget deficits".

The Voices of UVM Staff

Another voice in the mix of the hundreds of conversations we have had across the UVM community recently:

"I keep coming back to the same thing. We need to have a voice. That is the one most important over-arching issue with which staff at UVM have to reconcile. Without our own voice, we only reap what are essentially consequences of our inaction. Others negotiate for themselves and we settle. We settle for 'the best' the administration has to offer. We settle for cuts in pay under the guise of 'cost-sharing'. We settle for administrative decisions that only benefit the administrative layers, of which there are more and more.

Let's not settle anymore, let's have a conversation in which WE get to say what matters to us, as staff, and negotiate on OUR terms for a change.

As Mr. Spock stated: "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. "

It's time for the many to be heard. The only way to do that is with a contract. The only way to achieve a contract is through a union."

MORE ABOUT VSEA

What Is the Vermont State Employees' Association?

The Vermont State Employees' Association is an independent union of over 5,100 Vermont workers that

have joined together to have a voice in the decisions that affect our jobs.

In addition to the clerical and technical staff at the Vermont State Colleges, our union consists of state employees

At the core of the union's program is the work that members and staff do together to bargain contracts with management and ensure that these agreements are upheld in each of our workplaces.

VSEA has a team of professional staff to support members in enforcing

the contracts, training workplace stewards, carrying out direct action on key issues, lobbying, communications and legal support.
