APRIL 20: FWA'S SPRING MINI-CONFERENCE in Altamonte Springs (near Orlando) will feature Adrian Fogelin as the keynoter, Vic DiGenti presenting an all-day workshop on crime-writing, and many other workshops throughout the day. Appointments with agents are $25 when booked before April 1; $40 booked on or after April 1. Details here...

THE 2013 ROYAL PALM LITERARY AWARDS competition is open for submissions until June 15. The RPLA will judge in some 37 categories, and this year we've added a separate Youth Writers component. Details here...

1st ANNUAL YOUTH WRITERS CONFERENCE

For the first time in FWA history, Youth Writers Program members will be able to attend a special one-day youth workshop to be held in conjunction with the 12th Annual Florida Writers Conference.  

 

The day will be filled with information about youth publishing opportunities, the art of critique, agent pitches, and editing advice. In addition, our youth RPLA winners will be announced at the Saturday luncheon in front of the entire organization. Details...

THE FLORIDA WRITER HAS A NEW EDITOR. You'll receive the last issue produced under the direction of Sammy Smith in your mailbox shortly. FWA thanks Sammy for his many years of fine stewardship of the magazine.
