Arts and Culture Day 2016
Budget Meetings Are This Week -- good timing for arts and culture advocates to be in Tallahassee.

Thank you for registering to participate in Arts & Culture Day on Tuesday, January 26.  The informational rally and meeting is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the 22nd floor of the Capitol in the Art Gallery. Note that this informational rally and meeting is scheduled through 12:30 p.m. to allow time for some of our speakers and our legislative award winners to make it to the 22nd floor. Here is a copy of the agenda for tomorrow's rally/meeting.

The budget process begins today and will continue throughout this week and the entire session; so, our timing to be in Tallahassee this week is good.  We will update you on the status of the development of Florida's 2016-2017 budget at the informational rally on the 22nd floor.

Below are some helpful hints and information regarding your visit to the Capitol next week.

A Few Suggestions To Make Your Tallahassee 2016 Arts & Culture Day
More Productive:

Florida Capitol Building

1.
  Legislative-Office Visits:

A reminder to please make your legislative-office appointments in advance.  Please understand your chances of actually meeting with your legislators while you're in Tallahassee are slim.  They are extremely busy with legislative meetings. Try to schedule a brief meeting with one or more of your legislators' assistants -- they, too, are extremely important to our advocacy efforts.

Chamber

►  You can access information and contact information on your Florida Senator and Representative here.

Please do not make these appointments between 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26.   You need to give yourself plenty of time to get to our informational rally and meeting scheduled in the Art Gallery of the 22nd floor of the Capitol from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Legislators now know what their committee-meeting schedules will be for next week; and if you find they or their legislative aide/s are not available to schedule a specific time with you, tell them that you will drop by their offices to leave some important materials for their review while you're at the Capitol on Tuesday, January 26.
