August 20: As part of their Annual Customer Appreciation Day and their 25th Anniversary Celebration, Friendly Ford in Roselle is hosting a car show and open house at the dealership, 333 Irving Park Rd. Car show registration is from 9:00 a.m. to noon, with the awards presentation starting at 3:30 p.m. This free event is open to the community. 

August 27:
American Legion Post 1084 Riders Veterans Motorcycle Run, starting at the American Legion Post, 344 E. Maple. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m., kickstands up at 10:00 a.m. Cost: $20 per rider, $15 per passenger. All vehicles welcome. Call (630) 894-8524 for details.

September 5: Village Hall closed for Labor Day holiday.

September 6: League of Women Voters of Roselle/ Bloomingdale membership meeting & wine tasting fundraiser, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lynfred Winery, 15 S. Roselle Rd. The evening's program includes a presentation on "Why should I care about county judicial elections?"

September 7 & 8:
AARP Smart Driver Course at the Roselle Police Department, 103 S. Prospect St. Class meets from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and costs $15 for AARP members or $20 for non-members.

Traffic Alert: Roselle Rd. Closing at Railroad Crossing
August 24 to September 2

Road Closed Roselle Rd. is scheduled to be closed at the railroad crossing between Irving Park Rd. and Central Ave. for planned repairs starting August 24.

The road will close on Wednesday, August 24 and is planned to re-open by the end of the day on Friday, September 2. The road closure is part of a Metra project to make repairs at the crossing.

Detour routes are posted directing motorists to use Irving Park Rd., Medinah Rd., and Lake St.
Race to Stop Hunger 5K Run/Walk August 27 
Kids Against Hunger Kids Against Hunger-Fox Valley is hosting a 5K run/walk on August 27, with all of the proceeds going toward feeding children. This fun family event begins at 8:00 a.m. in the parking lot of BMO Harris Bank on Irving Park Rd. at Lawrence Ave. in Roselle, next to the Kids Against Hunger warehouse packing facility.

The course runs through Manary Park, into Medinah, and back. To register, volunteer or sponsor, visit the Kids Against Hunger website. For more information, contact race director Nancy Thiemann at
Township of Schaumburg Assessor's Office Holding Property Assessment Appeal Seminar 
Schaumburg Township The Township of Schaumburg Assessor's Office  is hosting a property assessment appeal seminar on August 30 at 6:30 p.m. at Township of Schaumburg Town Hall, 1 Illinois Blvd., Hoffman Estates.

Participants should bring a copy of their reassessment notice to this free seminar. More information about appealing property assessments is available on the Township of Schaumburg Assessor's Office website. Call (847) 884-0030 x 3023 for more information about the seminar.
Roselle History Museum Hosting Sip & Paint Class
History museum The Roselle History Museum is hosting a "Sip & Paint" class on Friday, August 26 at the museum, 39 E. Elm St., from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Cost to participate is $40 per person and includes two hours of painting, along with wine and cheese pairings.

Shared Cost Parkway Tree Replacement Program Orders
Due August 31 
New Tree Orders for Roselle's Shared Cost Parkway Tree Program are due by August 31. This 50/50 cost sharing program gives residents the opportunity to purchase a tree for their parkway at half of the cost, with the Village paying for the other half. This is a wonderful way to add to the beauty and enhance the property values of our community.
More information about this program, including a link to download a Parkway Tree Replacement form, is available on the Village of Roselle website. Orders will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Please call Public Works at (630) 671-2368 with questions.
