The tradition of fireworks is returning to Roselle again this Sunday, July 3 at Lake Park High School West Campus, 500 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. This free family event includes a "Party in the Park" presented by the Village of Roselle and Mission Church, with live music from WeAreMission starting at 5:30 p.m., followed by Beatles cover band American English at 6:30 p.m. The fireworks display, jointly sponsored by the Exploding Turkey Trot 5K, the Roselle Lions Club, and the Village of Roselle, will begin at 9:30 p.m.

The 10 includes the communities of Addison, Bartlett, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Glendale Heights, Hanover Park, Itasca, Medinah, Roselle, and Wood Dale.

Fly Quiet Runway Rotation Plan Begins July 3
night plane landing The Fly Quiet Runway Rotation Plan that was recently adopted by the Suburban O'Hare Commission has been approved by the Federal Aviation Administration, and a six-month test of the plan begins on July 3.

In order to assess whether the rotation plan is providing the intended benefits, the Suburban O'Hare Commission and the O'Hare Noise Compatibility Commission are requesting feedback from residents. The Fly Quiet Plan online survey will officially open to residents when the plan begins on July 3.

Under the Fly Quiet Plan, runways used for nighttime air travel will change from week to week. Aviation experts will continue to analyze flight paths and noise monitor data, but this entire program is designed to bring noise relief to residents. If you're feeling a reduced impact from the noise, the commission needs to know so that they can make the rotation permanent. If you're not feeling any noise relief, they need to know that also, to find out what's not working.

More information about the Fly Quiet Plan is available on the Village's website, including runway configurations and links to the reports presented to the Suburban O'Hare Commission.
