Roselle Fire Department Hosts Memorial Dedication of
Ground Zero Artifact
The Roselle Fire Department hosted a dedication of an official artifact from the World Trade Center as part of a 9/11 memorial at the Fire Station on April 28. The dedication ceremony included the delivery of the artifact, the folding and placement of the American flag in the memorial, and a blessing by Pastor Charles Mueller from Trinity Lutheran Church in Roselle.

The crumpled piece of exterior cladding obtained by the Roselle Fire Department, with assistance from the Roselle Foreign Fire Insurance Fund, was recovered from Ground Zero at the World Trade Center and was donated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. It is officially designated as Artifact # B-0048.

The 9/11 Memorial at the Roselle Fire Department honors those who were lost in the tragic and historic event on September 11, 2001, and is dedicated to the first responders who continued with their rescue efforts even as the towers fell around them.
