February 19: Roselle Park District Daddy Daughter Date Night, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Clauss Recreation Center, 555 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. Cost is $45 ($55 for non-residents) and includes refreshments, entertainment, and more.

February 20: American Legion Women's Auxiliary "Evening With the Stars" Dinner & Dance at the American Legion Hall, 344 E. Maple Ave. Appetizers will be served at 6:00 p.m., buffet dinner at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance ($25 at the door) and can be purchased at the American Legion Hall.

February 26: Roselle History Museum "Sip & Paint" fundraiser, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.,  at the museum, 39 E. Elm St. Cost is $40 per person and includes two hours of painting with local artist Paulina Engel, along with wine and cheese pairings. Call (630) 351-5300 to register.

February 27: Schaumburg Township hosting informational meeting about ComEd's West Central Reliability Project, including a discussion on the potential effect on property values within a one-mile radius of the project, 10:30 a.m. at the Schaumburg Township Office, 1 Illinois Blvd., Hoffman Estates.

Applications Now Being Accepted for Citizen Police Academy
PD Logo The Roselle Police Department is now accepting applications for its 2016 Citizen Police Academy. The 11-week program is scheduled to begin on March 17, and will meet on Thursday nights from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. through the end of May.

The Citizen Police Academy is designed to help participants understand how the police department operates, and fosters improved relationships between police officers and citizens who work together to enhance quality of life issues in the community.

Applicants for the Roselle Citizen Police Academy must be at least 18 years of age, live or work in the Village of Roselle, and will be subject to a background check. Applications and a full program description are available on the Citizen Police Academy page on the Village's website. Meet Chicago Northwest Restaurant Week Starts Today 
restaurant week Meet Chicago Northwest, the area's local visitor and convention bureau, is showcasing its third Annual Restaurant Week, today through February 28. This annual culinary celebration of the northwest suburbs finest dining features prix fixe menus ranging from $10 to $20 for lunch and $20 to $40 for dinner (excluding beverages, tax and gratuity).

Nothing is required for participation in Restaurant Week 2016, but diners may want to make reservations in advance. Over 35 area restaurants are participating in the Meet Chicago Northwest Restaurant Week this year. League of Women Voters of Roselle/Bloomingdale Hosting Candidates Forum This Sunday   
League of Women Voters The League of Women Voters of Roselle/Bloomingdale will host a Candidates Forum for candidates running in the contested Democratic primary election for the 8th Congressional District on Sunday, February 21 at 4:00 p.m. at Lake Park High School East Campus, 600 S. Medinah Rd., Roselle.

Doors will open at 4:00 p.m. for a "meet and greet" with the candidates, Deborah Bullwinkel, Michael Noland, and Raja Krishnamoorthi, followed by the moderated candidates' forum which starts promptly at 4:30 p.m.

Rose Queen Scholarship Pageant March 4

The Annual Rose Queen Scholarship Pageant will be held on Friday, March 4, at the Lake Park High School West Campus Auditorium, 500 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., at 7:00 p.m.

The purpose of the Rose Queen Scholarship Pageant is to offer local high school women an annual opportunity to compete for college scholarships totaling over $3,000. The pageant consists of judging in five areas: personal interview with the judges prior to the pageant, sportswear, talent, formal wear, and a Q&A opportunity as part of the pageant event.
