Bishop's Spring Conference for Clergy, Lay Professionals & Spouses, May 4-6, Shrine Mont
Lisa Kimball, director of the Center for Ministry of Teaching and professor of Christian formation and congregational leadership at Virginia Theological Seminary, will be our speaker at the 2015 Bishop's Spring Conference. Register online, by printing this form or by contacting our offices.
Commuter Core Godly Play Training will be offered at St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School, Alexandria, on April 18, May 16 and June 13 with the Rev. Dr. Rosemary Beales, the Rev. Emily Griffin and Arlene Decina, Godly Play Foundation Trainers. You may register for individual modules, or for all three modules for Core Certification. Standard registration is $125 per module. Late registration is $155 per module.

The Diocese of Souther Virginia's Additions & Recovery Comission will host "A Call to Action: Creating a Recovery Ready Diocese" on April 25 at Bruton Episcopal Church in Williamsburg. Learn more and register.

Foundation Cristosal is a faith based human rights organization in El Salvador that works to bring Salvadorans and North Americans together to make a positive impact on the world. This summer, a new opportunity will be offered to interested youth between the ages of 16 and 19 to learn about youth leadership and activism in international human rights. Hand-in-Hand Listening Sessions

 

In his pastoral address to Annual Council, the Rt. Rev. Shannon S. Johnston announced a new racial reconciliation initiative for 2015 to help our Diocese "be facilitators of reconciliation, both within our own walls and in the broader community. " 

 

The initiative begins with a series of  listening sessions around our diocese.  


The first three of these listening sessions will take place in late April in the following locations:  

  • April 16: Epiphany, Richmond, 7-8:30 p.m.
  • April 18: Trinity, Fredericksburg, 10-11:30 a.m.
  • April 23: The Falls Church, Falls Church, 7:30-9 p.m.

Additional sessions for the eastern and western parts of the Diocese will be scheduled for fall 2015.  

 

The Hand-in-Hand Listening Sessions are open to all members of the Diocese. Please help us spread the word in your congregations.
