Advent Retreat for Women Priests, Dec. 3, Roslyn Conference Center, Richmond

Ordination to the Priesthood, Dec. 6, Grace, Alexandria

God willing, the Rt. Rev. Shannon S. Johnston will ordain the Rev. Judy Davis, the Rev. Andrew Guffey, the Rev. Elizabeth Keeler, the Rev. Gene LeCouteur, the Rev. Willis Logan and the Rev. Weston Mathews (for Southwestern Virginia) to the sacred order of priests at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6.

Since the end of Summer, we have proudly displayed Shrine Mont camper artwork in the diocesan office. We are looking for more great artwork to display! We are kicking off the hiring process for Shrine Mont Camps 2015 and searching for four exceptional camp directors. Interested in pushing yourself as the director of Art Camp, Explorers' Camp, SHYC or St. George's Camp next summer? Find out more here. 

 

The Diocese has started a search for a part-time benefits administrator to join the diocesan team and handle insurance benefits and processes. 2015 UTO Grant Application information is now available online. All grant requests must be submitted electronically to Mary Anne Bryant  in the diocesan  Office of Mission and Outreach mabryant@thediocese.net by Jan. 15.

Center Aisle:
We're Baaaack 

 We're baaaack ... and we're bigger and more nimble than ever.

Center Aisle is packing its bags to head west from the Diocese of Virginia to Salt Lake City for our sixth General Convention in June 2015 as a force for reconciliation.

 

For those new to Center Aisle, here's a quick recap: Every three years, Episcopalians from across the globe come together for our governance meeting called General Convention. And since 2000, the Diocese of Virginia has offered an opinion journal - Center Aisle - as a gift to attendees, and as a way to keep folks back home connected.

 

Before we leave town, we're getting an earlier start than ever, by launching this digital version of Center Aisle. In the months leading up to General Convention next summer, we will be regularly updating our website with an array of views and proposals that reflect the rich diversity of our Church.
