Earlier today, a mudslide occurred in central Sri Lanka. At least 10 people are dead and hundreds missing, and many houses are destroyed. This news comes following the Rt. Rev. Dhilorajo Ranjit's visit to the Diocese of Virginia. Bishop Dhilo is bishop of the Diocese of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He and his wife, Harshini, spent time in Virginia in October, and joined clergy at Shrine Mont for the Bishop's Fall Retreat last week. Please keep the people of Sri Lanka in your prayers.

2015 Compensation Guidelines are now available on the diocesan website. The recommended increase for 2015 is 1.873 percent. New rates for health insurance and other benefits can be found here. IRS mileage reimbursement rate changes will not be available until about December 2014.


Open enrollment is coming! Our online Open Enrollment for employee 2015 health benefits will run from Oct. 31-Nov. 21, 2014. IMPORTANT NOTE: For 2015, employees will no longer receive a unique user name and password specifically for Open Enrollment. You must use the same user name and password created to access benefits information on MyCPG Accounts to access the enrollment web page as well. Diocesan Planned Giving Workshop: "What Any Church Can Do" 
 
This Planned Giving workshop, facilitated by Karl Mattison, the executive director of the Presbyterian Endowment Education & Resource Network, will take place at Holy Cross, Dunn Loring, on Nov. 1 from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m.

The workshop will discuss how planned gifts to the church help ensure a future that will help serve as a testament of your values for generations. It will provide an overview on planned giving in the church, what you must have in place and proven tools that any Church can use.

Registration is $25/person or $50/parish for up to four attendees. Scholarships are available. Contact
