This year's Fall Clergy Retreat will feature the Rev. Martin L. Smith, who is well known throughout the Episcopal Church and beyond as a preacher, retreat leader and writer of a number of widely read books exploring contemporary spirituality. Learn more.    

  

DOVDPR Volunteer Day, Nov. 8, St. Stephen's, Culpeper
The Diocese of Virginia Disaster Preparedness and Response (DOVDPR) ministry team is sponsoring a volunteer day to explore the opportunities throughout the US for teams to help folks recover from natural disasters. Learn more.

The Leadership Institute at Union Presbyterian Seminary, Richmond, is offering a series of workshops open to clergy, educators, church leaders and anyone who wants to deepen their understanding and abilities in the Christian faith. Upcoming workshops include "Faith in Our Music:  Many Voices, Diverse Chords, Common Hopes" on Sept. 23-25, and "Human Growth and Faith Development" on Sept. 29 - Oct.30. Clergy/Counselor Certification training for Prepare-Enrich, a marriage/relationship inventory and education tool, will be offered Oct. 28 at First Presbyterian Church, Richmond.  Learn more and register.

Westminster Canterbury, Richmond, will host a seminar for clergy and lay congregational ministers on Oct. 16, 
"When Words Fail: Practical Ministry to People with Dementia."    
Frances Caldwell of GOTAP Consulting will offer a series of workshops: "Changes: Assessing them, Making them, Thriving with them." This year's workshop will help you sort through new ideas, practices that will work, and others that have run their course in order to find the balanced way to use the best of the old and new.   Learn more and register.

The Diocese will host a series of Treasurer's and Administrator's Workshops Sept. 22- Sept. 24. Everyone involved in church finances and/or staff benefits is encouraged to attend.
