Diocesan Annual Giving Workshops  
Members of the diocesan Committee on Stewardship will facilitate workshops on annual giving using The Episcopal Network for Stewardship's 2014 materials, "Walking the Way."  The next workshop will take place August 5 at St. Andrew's, Arlington. Need to Know 

Does your church have a chapel, a prayer room or an outdoor worship space? We're collecting photos of alternative worship spaces for publication in an upcoming issue of the Virginia Episcopalian magazine. Please send your high resolution photos, including caption and photographer name, to Emily Cherry at echerry@thediocese.net by Aug. 10.

Blue Ridge Ministries, Inc. is hosting a Summer Leadership Luncheon for Shenandoah Valley ministering and lay persons with the Rev. Cannon Stephen Cherry of Durham, England, on August 21 at Eastern Mennonite Seminary in Harrisonburg, VA. Learn more and register.

 

Faith in Our Music, a three-day music conference for clergy, church members, worship committees and church musicians, will take place Sept. 23-25 at Union Presbyterian Seminary. Learn more and register.

The Leadership Program for Musicians (LPM) is currently taking registrations for courses beginning this fall. LPM is a "national teaching ministry giving church musicians an increased sense of 
vocational awareness and the tools and resources to help congregations sing well and participate actively in worship". Learn more and register.
  
It's Not Too Late for Summer Camp!


Summer may be half-way over - but there's still time to register for a session of camp!

 

Know of a family or a church that has kids who'd like to go to summer camp?  


Spots are available for the following camps:

  • Senior High Youth Conference (SHYC), July 20-27, is an opportunity for high-school aged youth to engage in service and grow as leaders.  
  • Explorers' II, July 23-Aug. 1, invites 12-14-year-olds to spend a week hiking, camping, swimming and canoeing.  
  • Art Camp, Aug. 2-10, is a chance for kids ages 8-15 to express themselves through a variety of media.  

Scholarships are still available for all three sessions!
