Diocesan Planned Giving Workshop - July 12, Grace, Kilmarnock  

Facilitated by Karl Mattison,  executive director of the Presbyterian Endowment Education & Resource Network, this workshop will discuss how planned gifts to the church help ensure a future that will serve as a testament of your values for generations.  Learn more.

Diocesan Annual Giving Workshops  
Members of the diocesan Committee on Stewardship will facilitate workshops on annual giving using The Episcopal Network for Stewardship's 2014 materials, "Walking the Way."  The next workshop will take place August 5 at St. Andrew's, Arlington. Another summer is in full gear at Shrine Mont Camps - and you can join in the fun! Be sure to follow our View from the Mountain blog, with special posts from guest writers.

For those attending this weekend's Bishop's Jubilee celebration and concert at Shrine Mont, join Bishop Johnston for a special announcement about the Shout It from the Mountain campaign on Sunday, July 6, at 9:30 a.m. in the Virginia House Ballroom! And don't forget to sign up to receive occasional campaign updates.
Need to Know 

Here are a few important notes about getting in touch with your diocesan staff this week!

  • The diocesan offices will close at noon on Thursday, July 3, starting at 12 p.m.. If you call on Thursday afternoon with a time-sensitive matter, you'll be directed to the staff member on-call who will respond promptly to your inquiry. 
  • The diocesan offices will also be closed on Friday, July 4, and will reopen on Monday, July 7. 
  • The phone system at the diocesan office will undergo an update on Thursday, July 3, from around 8-9 a.m. The best way to get in touch with us during this time is via e-mail. Otherwise, please try us after 9 a.m. on Thursday.
The Deacons' School, a joint project between the Dioceses of Southern Virginia and Virginia to form future deacons of the Episcopal Church, has unveiled their new website.  Check it out, and learn more in the most recent issue of the Virginia Episcopalian magazine!

The Episcopal Church Task Force on the Study of Marriage
has released a new resource tool kit for the study of marriage, called Dearly Beloved. For more information on utilizing this resource in your parish, contact Carolyn Moomaw Chilton, carolynmoomawchilton@gmail.com, a member of the task force.
