Awake, My Soul: Council Spirit Spreads

Our Annual Council in Richmond last week was a time filled with stories, energy and inspiration. In the coming weeks, we hope to share some of the information and feedback gathered at Council with you.

Throughout Council, the Twitter world kept busy by live-tweeting from the business floor, using the hashtag #VaCouncil. You can read their tweets here.

On the second day of Council, we tried something new with some interactive poll software. We'll be reporting back on the results soon, but in the meantime, you can learn about the polling program - and some lessons learned - here.

We invited a variety of lay people, priests, deacons - and bishops - to offer meditations and homilies during our time together. We're posting these as they become available on the Council Media Page. We'll also post audio clips here in the coming days.

During our new "State of the Diocese" program, groups and individuals from across the Diocese shared stories of soul-stretching ministry - including a video "call-in" from the presiding bishop to the GIRLs radio program.

To see more from our time together, check out our Council Photo Album
