A special interfaith gathering with a focus on the challenge of food sustainability, including keynote speaker the Rev. Richard Cizik.

A time for youth to participate in a hands-on service project and learn about outreach.  

 

Fall Camp, Oct. 21-24, Shrine Mont  

The annual retreat from the Tri-Diocesan Council on Aging, with keynoter Phyllis Tickle.  

 

New Clergy Orientation, Oct. 22 at Mayo House, Richmond.
All clergy who have begun new ministries in the Diocese within the past 18 months, including the newly ordained and those who are transitioning from other dioceses, are invited to attend.   

Seeing the Face of God in Each Other, Oct. 25-26, Buck Mountain Church, Earlysville  

Anti-racism training with the Committee on Race & Reconciliation.  

 

Bishop's Fall Clergy Retreat, Oct. 28, Shrine Mont  

A retreat to explore spirituality in leadership, led by all three bishops.  

 

Senior High Weekend, Nov. 8-10, Shrine Mont  

A gathering for high school students from across the Diocese.

  • Virginia Theological Seminary will host a "Make a Noise," event against gun violence on Sept. 19 at 1 p.m. The Very Rev. Gary Hall, dean of the National Cathedral, will speak about the Episcopal Church's efforts against gun violence and how they relate to our Baptismal Covenant.
  • Roslyn will host a Prayer Bead Workshop and Labyrinth Walk, October 29, 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m.  Cost is $35 and includes lunch, one prayer bead kit (additional kits and finished prayer beads will be available for sale) and workshop materials.  To sign up please contact Roslyn at 804-288-6045.
  • The Center for EQ-HR Skills will host a One-Day Emotional Intelligence Introductory Workshop on Nov. 6 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Church Center, Harrisonburg, Pa. Tuition is $155 and includes lunch.  Register online at www.eqhrcenter.org.
Church Spotlight: Trinity, Charlottesville

Keep up to date with the happenings of this busy congregation!

On Sept. 28 from 9-11 a.m., Trinity will hold an Ushers and Greeters Workshop. This event is geared toward anyone interested in learning more about welcoming strangers into our midst. Cost to attend is $5. RSVP: 434-293-3157.

 

On Sept. 29 at 5 p.m. Trinity will host a "Make A Noise," an event geared at putting faith into action to prevent, reduce and eliminate gun violence. This will be an hour-long vigil of prayerful engagement and reflection with the choirs and congregations of Trinity and St. Paul's, Ivy. For more information, e-mail the Rev.
