Virginia Theological Seminary will host a Jazz Mass of Remembrance and Renewal on Sept. 15 at 5 p.m. in honor of four young girls - Addie Mae Collins, Denise McNair, Carole Robertson, and Cynthia Wesley - who were killed in the bombing of 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Ala. Jazz from W.E.S. Group and African drumming circle followed by reception.

Church Spotlight: Region V

Region 5 churches will gather on Saturday, Sept. 28 for a day of gleaning. Participants will gather at their respective churches at 7 a.m., travel to a local farm, and glean apples, broccoli and other fall crops for area food banks.
