Need to Know
  • This week, you should have received a questionnaire as part of a feasibility study surrounding the future of Shrine Mont Camps. We hope you'll take a moment to share your feedback with us by August 9. Only one person per household should complete the questionnaire. Thank you for your support!
  • There are many diocesan churches that are going out into the world for mission and outreach opportunities.  Is your church bringing clergy or mission groups to your church in Virginia? World Mission Fund grants ($250/individual and $500/group) are available both for groups traveling outside of the Diocese of Virginia and also for those traveling here. If you think your church might qualify or if you have any questions, please contact the Office of Mission and Outreach: mabryant@thediocese.net.
  • Please keep those parishes embarking on mission trips in July in your prayers. If your church is not on this list, please contact Mary Anne Bryant at mabryant@thediocese.net. Also, if your church is planning a Holy Land pilgrimage in the next six months, please let Mary Anne know.
Upcoming Events & Programs

GOTAP Consulting is pleased to offer stimulating and useful Annual Giving workshops in August and September. The workshops will consist of two parts and are scheduled to last three hours.

The first part will provide the information and template needed to develop a narrative budget that will present an effective case for giving that reflects each church's life-changing ministries. The template and directions will be new this year. The second part is devoted to developing the timeline which incorporates innovate plans for building a more effective annual campaign. This part will focus on communication, relationship building and financial capacity. The workshops will be partially funded by the Bishop Peter James Lee Endowment for Small Church Revitalization, benefiting churches with an average Sunday attendance of less than 200. The workshops will be open to  churches in the Diocese of Virginia and participants are encouraged to bring three to four people representing vestry, stewardship committee and clergy. There will be a charge of $25 per person for the first three people. There is no charge for the fourth person from each church.

Workshops will be held from 6-9 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a sandwich or salad if there is not time to eat before the workshop begins.
