"The longing for the unification with one person is the first step toward unification with humanity."  J.P.

Dear Community,

Welcome to our first newsletter for 2015. For many the new year is symbolic of endings and new beginnings, the opportunity to reflect and focus on important goals for the year ahead. In this edition we wanted to focus on these themes too and share with you the many ways in which Core Energetics is growing and evolving. We want to celebrate the ways in which supporting one another and working together can help bring this work out to benefit and reach more people around the world. If you think we have missed something important- take the opportunity and let us know. We want to hear from you. Submissions for the April newsletter need to be in by first week of March. Please click here to view our submission guidelines and email articles to: newsletter@coreenergetics.org

NY ICE Restructuringhands_together_sand.jpg & Opportunities for Alumni
Warren Moe

Feedback from graduates have led to an exciting expansion for all who desire heart connection and support for bringing this work into the world. Your energy is both desired and celebrated!

We have succeeded in bringing together various international institutes and leadership as was enjoyed at the International Conference of Core Energetics in Berlin last summer. We are seeing a surge of growth and an expanded presence in the world! It is our shared vision to develop a healthy and sustainable Alumni Community that is inclusive and honors the wisdom of a broader community. As part of this vision, the Institute boldly claims its intention to broaden the programming and leadership base. We are inviting graduates to become "Alumni Members" of the Institute. The nominal membership fee ($35/year) will support a variety of Alumni programs being created. These events will foster a vital Alumni Member Association.

In 2016, the Alumni Members will nominate and elect a representative to the Institute's Board of Directors, ensuring an active Alumni voice in the strategic planning and future direction of Core Energetics. We're on the growing edge of an active "Alumni Community", one that represents holistic growth and inclusivity for everyone who wishes to take part.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all those that have given of themselves to make our Institute a place of ever expanding consciousness. I thank my Corporate Co-Member Doug Wirth; the Board of Directors which includes Ken Kinghorn, Melissa Alacheff, Jac Conaway, Kate Holt, Brian Gleason, Liz Carl, Jacqueline Carlton; and our Academic Director Lisa Loustaunau. I would also like to wish you all a joyous and fulfilling Holiday Season.
Warmly,
Warren Moe

Farewell to Joan Groom- 27 years of Service!
Jessica Nygren

The December training was a bitter sweet goodbye as Joan Groom celebrated her last days with NY ICE after 27 years of service. Joan has always loved birds (and has a pet conure, Charlie of 33 years!) and was given a large painting of birds as a thank you from the Institute. Please join us sending her love and blessings as she embarks on her next adventure into retirement.

Saying goodbye to the center at Twenty-Third Street was bittersweet. The facility was beautifully managed after John's death by Charlie, Ala and Karin. The Core Center served us well. This space enabled John P. to develop Core Energetics. He did his creative thinking, research, and writing there. His home base from his travels.

John's goal was to see his life's work grow and take on a life of its own. This has happened. So, although it is sad to say goodbye to the past and all the wonders that happened in this space, it is joyous to know that Core is continuing to grow and that from its strong roots new centers and training institutes are emerging. Like the circle of life, this ending is also a beginning, and this closing makes room for other openings.

I remember well, John's Friday Night Case Presentations, students crowded into the big room mesmerized by the master's work. Panels of esteemed individuals, the spirit guide Emanuel; parties' celebrations, good company and lots of dancing! It was a place where romances took off and ended. There were intense faculty meetings, with much lower self-expression, horrendous pain and passion, clashing egos and reconnection, anger and growth but most of all love.

Many of the senior teachers - Stuart, Lula, Al, Jacquie, Barry, Jac, Elaine, Cynthia, Sid, Erena, Pam, Teddy, Siegmar, Lorenz, Walid, Liz, Karyne, Irene, Michael, Joyce, Phyllis, Ann, Joan, Graciella, Molly, and Kuno- graduated there. It was the most amazing place- and because of this, those of us who are affiliated with and love the work, can head into the future with our feet on the ground, clear vision, and fire in our hearts.

Accreditation- A Success Story Down Under
Andrea Alexander

Core Energetics training in Australia is under the banner of "The Institute of
Body Psychotherapy" and accepted its' first intake in March 2011. Andrea started the training on her own with some great support and encouragement from Lisa Loustaunau and Karyne Wilner. Jessica Nygren was her first assistant teacher, Lisa was their first International teacher and Brian and Marcia Gleason taught in 2013.

Core Energetics first came to Australia about fifteen years ago to a country that was mystified as to why they would participate in ongoing therapy when they have 'mates'." As it turned out, many Australians love the unique expression, empowerment,  freedom and healing that Core Energetics offers. After all, Australia started as a penal colony and there is multi-generational trauma stemming from abuse of power and authority and loss of freedom.

Andrea was determined to get the course accredited and become an accredited college - and so her own battle with authority began! Thankfully, Beth Britton who had participated in Core Energetics groups and processes for many years also understood government jargon. She assisted Andrea and together they managed to get both the course and college accredited. During this time there was a change of government and significant restructure, so there were more rules and regulations, hurdles to jump, and what seemed to be "shifting goal posts" and rapid increases in government fees. Along the way, Andrea continued to work her personal process and confront many of the authority issues , images  and lower self she had; including projections
on the accreditation board as "unjust parents", with "shifting rules", and "unfair punishment". Fortunately everything was finalized in July and The Institute of Bodypsychotherapy is getting ready to issue its first nationally accredited "Diploma of Integrated Somatic Psychotherapy".

New Horizons for Core in Poland
Liz Carl & Ala Konopko-Ulanecki

The inspiration to introduce Core Energetics to Poland grew out of a lifelong friendship spanning 20 years and an invitation for Liz to present a talk for a Polish audience in London. "The more we talked the more excited and passionate we became about the idea of presenting Core Energetics in Poland - the homeland of both of us" writes Ala.

Ala and Liz met weekly discussing and translating Core Energetics concepts to Polish- not a small task. Some concepts had no literal translation and new vocabulary had to be invented to describe grounding, lower self, higher self, the Pathwork. Core Energetics Polska began to have a life of its own. "We've had strangers contacting us, offering their ideas and help in creating events. It has been such a joy to have people who have never heard about Core Energetics asking questions, wanting to understand, getting excited and signing up for our workshops."

The plan is to return to Poland with another series of workshops and presentations in fall 2015. And over the next couple of years to create a personal transformation program, followed by a Core Energetics Institute in Poland and practitioner training. Liz and Ala are planning to invite Core Energetics teachers and leaders from other countries to lead workshops in Poland in 2016. "We are excited about our project and happy to share it with you - our community. Please join us in spreading the word and sharing our information with your friends and clients becoming a part of bringing Core Energetics to yet another place on Earth."
Continuing Core: February workshop on Addiction
Aidan Fisher

Addiction and compulsive behavior are rampant in our society at large. Substance abuse is simply one of the ways in which addiction can appear in our lives. Warren Moe will walk us through how to recognize addictive and compulsive behaviour and what we as Core Energetics Practitioners can do to help our clients understand how they can overcome and allow themselves greater freedom to live fuller lives, unbound by behaviors that hold back creative and emotional instincts.
What's A Free Friday Night?
Ba r r a  Ka h n

Free Friday Nights are back on the map again and making significant headway toward introducing Core Energetics to people who are new to the work. FFN's are generally held on the 3rd Friday of each month (except July, August, and December), from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Free Friday Nights are primarily about giving people an experience of Core Energetics, offering people the chance to attend an Intro weekend and/or join the training, and give folks a taste of how Core touches on and can work within many different areas  - sexuality, addiction, physical embodiment, gender, life purpose, etc. Leaders are invited to design a workshop that highlights their talents/skills within the world of Core Energetics.

Leaders of the FFNs are alumni, interns and faculty members who want to support the process, and perhaps even grow their own practice. Those interested in leading a FFN should contact Barra Kahn at barra3@gmail.comreaching_hands.jpg
