BARNAUT Brut Grande Reserve, Grand Cru-Bouzy This is the original cuvee, and its reserve wine comes from the batch first made by Edmund Barnaut and replenished every year. The blend is approximately two thirds Pinot noir and one third Chardonnay, and represents 65% of the annual production. Phillipe Seconde, the current descendent, took over in 1985 and is responsible for the elevation of the vinticulture, the cellars and the resulting quality.
RH COUTIER Brut NV Blanc de Blancs, Grand Cru-Ambonnay The Coutiers have been in Ambonnay since 1619! They own nine hectares of vineyards in Ambonnay, one third Chardonnay and two thirds Pinot Noir. This Blanc de Blancs has lovely signature aromas of just barely cooked apples alongside what appears to be almost a "Pinot" character. The Coutier's old vines, planted in 1946, are the oldest in Ambonnay. This is a single vineyard Blanc de Blancs which combines the elegance of its grape with the substance of its soil. JOEL FALMET Brut NV Tradition - Aube Joel Falmet's vineyards are in the Aube within the Cotes de Barr region. The domaine produces about 1200 cases of Brut Tradition. The style is clean, straightforward, and full bodied, typical of a Champagne from the Aube that is made primarily from Pinot Noir. In 2009, the New York Times said it was the Best Champagne under $40! BARON-FUENTE Grande Reserve NV Brut Charly-sur-Marne The Baron-Fuente family has worked the vineyards for over three centuries! This cuvee is composed of 60% Pinot Meunier, 30% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir from the vineyards in the Charly-sur-Marne, in the northwest corner of the appellation.Pale yellow in color with a bouquet of apple, peach and pear. In the mouth, the wine is balanced with vinous aromas of fruit and good structure. PIERRE MONCUIT Brut NV Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru- Le Mesnil Pierre Moncuit is universally regarded as one of the finest small growers in Le Mesnil-Sur-Oger, one of the finest Grand Cru Villages in the Cotes des Blancs. Their vines are very old for the Cotes de Blancs, the average for the Cuvee Moncuit-Delos is 35-40 years. The wine spends over three years on its lees before being disgorged! 91 points, The Wine Spectator, Nov. 2012 LALLIER Grande Reserve, Grand Cru The Lallier family has been established in Ay for over five generations! They only use Pinot Noir and Chardonnay for their Grand Reserve cuvees and a minimum of 36 months before bottling. The Grande Reserve is composed of 65% Pinot Noir from Ay and Verzenay, 35% Chardonnay from Avize and Cramant. It is a blend of 70% of the year's wine and 30% reserve wines. 91 points, The Wine Spectator, Nov.2012
