What would happen if the selected architect of a 9/11 memorial at ground-zero turned out to be a Muslim-American? How would Americans react to the news? There are no easy answers to the questions raised in Amy Waldman's debut novel.
The One Book/One New Paltz Committee has selected The Submission, by Amy Waldman, for our 2012 community read. In Library Journal, Sally Bissell remarks that this book "is an insightful, courageous, heartbreaking work that should be read, discussed, then read again." According to Bissell, the author "dares readers to confront their own complicated prejudices steeped in faith, culture, and class."

About Us
Mohonk Mountain Stage Company has been taking audiences on extraordinary theatrical journeys since 1994. MMSC was formed in 1994 to perform works of strong literary merit for young and adult audiences. The Theatre for Young Audiences has appeared at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., as well as at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
