Social Action News:
An Updated Reminder from Social Action
WILL YOU BE JOINING US IN PROVIDING OUR NEEDIEST NEIGHBORS WITH A THANKSGIVING BASKET?
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DEADLINE FOR THE BASKETS HAS NOW BEEN EXTENDED TO SUNDAY, NOV. 18TH AT NOON!
Each basket must be sufficient to feed a family of five and should contain:
A $20 or $25 gift certificate purchased directly from a local supermarket* for the turkey, also fresh or canned yams or potatoes, stuffing mix, cranberries, cake mix or cookies, apple juice or other beverage, rolls, canned green beans, canned mushroom soup, and French onion rings (the last three items to make a green bean casserole). Instead of a basket, we ask you to provide a foil turkey baking pan as the container. And you can easily wrap all the contents in a cellophane basket bag available for purchase from AC Moore.
(*Under $50 cards are unavailable from the YJC)
We will again try to reach our goal of at least 30 bags! Remember that you can share this with friends! Many thanks for all of your support throughout the year!
And please choose a leaf from our Mitzvah Tree now on display!
For further information, or to join our committee, please contact co-chairs:
Phyllis Cohen (cohen3ap@verizon.net) or Deb May (djackson@weiserllp.com)
