Greetings!

You are receiving this e-mail because you have expressed an interest in keeping up with our ministry to prisoners. Thank you very much for your interest and your prayers.

June is upon us and this means the start of summer! The children are out of school and many of us are wondering what to do during those dog days of summer.

By God's grace, we are receiving student applications at a faster rate than we ever have in the past. If you are not an instructor, now is the perfect time to commit to spending just 20-30 minutes per month helping a prisoner grow in grace. You can do this from the comfort of your own home and we will give you all the answers so there is nothing to bar you from serving!

For those of you who are instructors, would you share the ministry with at least one person this month and try to recruit them to serve? And, would you be willing to take on another student? This is a good place to be and we are thankful for so many who desire to study God's word.
June Travel Schedule
  • 1: Covenant Presbyterian Church, Chattanooga: Mentor Recruiting
  • 16 - 20: Greenville, SC: PCA General Assembly
  • 22: Covenant PCA, Chattanooga: Mentor Training
June Update & Praise
  • In May we trained 5 new Mentors for the work at Walker State Prison. We hope these men will begin mentoring on June 10.
  • We have seen our financial support increase by 30% over last year! We are most thankful to God for His blessings in this area.
  • On May 2nd, we had a Board of Directors meeting. Shelly reported that we have over 500 students for the first time in our history! Praise be to God for the work that He is doing in the prisons!
June Prayer Requests
  • Please pray for Shelly in her work. She prints the courses, keeps the database, and receives and sends all the mail.
  • Please pray for safe traveling mercies for our Board of Directors. We will have a Board meeting in June at the PCA General Assembly.
  • Please pray for Spanish Speaking mentors for Walker State Prison. We have need of 6 men who speak Spanish.

Andy Caldwell directed, shot and edited the videos, and I think he did a fantastic job. You can watch the videos here: Metanoia Video and Metanoia Video 2. Please let me know what you think. Also, please visit Ligonier.org and watch another video here: http://www.ligonier.org/blog/metanoia-prison-ministries/
