Interested in Helping Sunflower Hill as a Board Member or Volunteer?
Sunflower Hill is an IRS recognized 501c3 non profit. As such, we regularly elect a board of directors to guide our organization. If you're interested, please fill out our on-line application!

With our garden and land projects underway, we're especially interested in talking with individuals with project management, administrative skills and IT expertise. Applications will be accepted through December and we'll contact you in January for an interview.

If you'd like to help out but in a less formal capacity, please also consider volunteering for Sunflower Hill! We are always looking for volunteer assistance in our garden - especially those with gardening experience, as well as volunteers who have experience working with special needs individuals. Contact Lynn Monica at if you're interested or visit our webpage for more info. We also have volunteer opportunities at our new office and with our micro businesses. If you're interested in more of an administrative volunteer position, contact Susan Houghton at

Thank you for considering helping us with your time and talents!

December 12 - Family Workday at Sunflower Hill Gardens
Our December Family Workday is Saturday, December 12, from 9:00-11:30 a.m at Sunflower Hill Gardens at Hagemann Ranch! We will be working in the garden planting and weeding, as well as creating a few fun holiday themed projects with corn stocks, pine cones and bird seeds.

If you'd like to attend please RSVP to, and indicate how many will be coming as well as if you will be bringing a special needs individual. Our Sunflower Hill Garden is located at 455 Olivina Avenue in Livermore. For more details, see our Family Workday webpage.

Thanks to everyone who attended the November Family Workday at Sunflower Hill Gardens, where Congressman Eric Swalwell participated with us! He joined a few of our special needs ranchers planting a fig tree, plants, and harvesting some produce, as well as playing a bit of corn toss. Our ranchers also had fun creating some fun scarecrows and turkeys. Photos from this fun event can be found here.

In addition, thank you to the Rotary Club of Pleasanton for awarding us $3,800 for our garden projects! And a big thank you to Alden Lane Nursery for choosing Sunflower Hill Gardens as their beneficiary for this year's Holiday Open House! We received a total of $1,040 in cash donations and proceeds from purchases. WOW!
