Welcome to the DCC Edition of the SBS4DCC newsletter.
Happy Turkeys! Hope your celebration of the blessing from Our Lord is pleasant and joyous. I'm having a ham. The pigs face is wrought with fright but the turkeys are happy. I have been saving a very special bottle of wine for this day as well. If everything works out right... well, you get the picture. Celebrate and be Thankful.
My son and I will also commandeer the dining room promptly after the dinner table is cleared to erect our annual Christmas (yes... I said it... it's that time already too) Lionel trains layout. Can't wait... BEST DAY EVER!
I firmly believe after reading so many of your stories in monthly rags that the joy of this hobby truly begins on the kitchen floor with a Lionel set train and a few pieces of fast track. If we are to plant seeds and share our passion for this hobby, I encourage you to follow my lead with your scale engineers. They will turn a keen eye to your 1:160 or 1:87 or 1:48 empire soon enough.
So... SBS4DCC... I haven't put out a newsletter in a while. Not much to say really until today. If holiday sales pan out, it will be another positive year of sales growth for Streamlined Backshop. I am Thankful and Blessed. Thanks to you all. Thank you, thank you, thank you. The third and early fourth quarter were the first time I saw declining sales year over year but I think that nearly everyone in every business saw the same thing. Just a deep breath I hope. The loan payments are current and the bills are mostly paid so there you go...
Some positive news to share is that I reviewed shipping costs once again and was able to pass along another modest decrease in shipping charges. You read that right... the price of something went down. Thank you for your patronage.
I am also happy to report that I took a very close look at one of my most popular product lines this week, ESU DCC, and have revised all of that pricing... DOWN. You read that right... the price of something else went down. Thank you for your patronage.
I continue to make solid progress on my decoder install backlog and the conversion of the large O scale collection I am currently working on. My old helper who got tied up with life called the other day looking for a few projects so that will help to expedite matters immensely. Again... Thankful...
Finally, I continue to add new content to www.SBS4DCC.com including a very useful page about The Infamous 21MTC Interface Connector. This is everything you need to know, or at least everything I know, about this increasingly popular and sometimes confusing decoder interface.
You may have come across the ESU LokSound v4.0 Pioneer Zephyr Sound File, ESU LokSound v4.0 Custom Sound Files, or ESU LokSound v4.0 Dual Prime Mover Sound Files pages. These are not "official" ESU produced files. Matt and his team at ESU rule this domain. These are merely humble attempts to fill in the sound file catalog in the absence of an "official" file for certain prototypes. All but the Zephyr file are built from existing ESU sound files. All but the Zephyr file are free of charge for your personal use so please don't jaw at me if you don't like them. Just tryin' to help... Also, ESU has released a full series of Dual Prime Mover sound file since I put this page up, go figure. My files are slightly different particularly in the operation of the second prime mover. I made the effort to build the files and create the page so I plan to leave it up. If it becomes a problem at any point, I will pull it down.
It really is a great time to be a... Digital Model Railroader!
So with that... All Aboard!
All the best, and once again, Thank You. Bryan
