Welcome to the DCC Edition of the SBS4DCC newsletter.

This edition features a another round of new products additions to the store and great new product announments from the manufacturers.

All of the DCC suppliers have been busy with new products, new sounds, and new tools.

What great time to be a... Digital Model Railroader!

Sorry... No time for DCC tips this month.  I have been busy at work with new model year prototypes (let me now if you are in the market for a 61" ZT, the new models rock...) and I have been trying to wrap up some late summer projects for Mrs. V so time has been scarce.

I said, "Please be patient dear, I promise I will get to it THIS coming spring".  She said, "Don't worry about it anymore honey, I will take care of it".  I heard, "I am going to hire somebody to do it and you will pay a mint for it".  She just smiled and said, "I love you SOOO much".

Sorry man...  Had to get it done.

I also continue to add new information to my "Sugar Cube" Speakers page that I hope will help you get even better results from this fantastic solution.

And finally, I would like to note that this is a milestone edition for me.  This train now has over 1000 passengers on board.  Thanks to you all for joining me on this excursion.

So with that... All Aboard!

The New Accutrack II Model Train Speedometer...

Introducing the Accutrack II Model Train Speedometer

Model Railroad Technologies is please to announce the development of the  Accutrack II Speedometer for measuring scale speeds of model railroad locomotives and trains.

The Accutrack II includes several features not present in the original Accutrack Speedometer.  We have listened to customer and dealer input and have incorporated the most desired new features and functions. Although several small changes have been made in the nearly 10 years that the Accutrack has been on the market, no major redesign has been done up until now.

These new features include:

Clearance for HO scale AutoMax cars and double stacks with high box containers. Several modelers running modern equipment could not run their AutoMax equipped trains with through the existing model. With the Accutrack II they can! (see photo).

The addition of OO scale and 148 : 1 N scale to the existing HO and 160 : 1 N scale

The addition of Kilometers per hour (KPH) as a unit of measure for all included scales.

Scale selection includes the ability to select each of the included scales with measurement displayed in either miles per hour (MPH) or kilometers per hour (KPH).

Display resolution is:
  • .1 mph/kph up to 10
  • 1 mph/kph for 10 and above
Adjustable automatic Power Down time. Originally limited to powering down after 5
minutes of no train activity, this time period is now adjustable from 1 minute to 30 minutes. The power down feature can also be disabled completely, if desired, but re-enabled as desired.

We believe that these new features, coupled with the simple, no installation setup of the original Accutrack, will add to the enjoyment of serious model railroaders, whatever their interest.

Train Control Systems Decoder Installation Motherboards

Train Control Systems (TCS) has just announced four Motherboards designed to clean up both conventional and sound decoder installations in several Bachmann and Walthers HO steam locomotives.

These "Motherboards" replace the factory circuit board that is mounted in the tender. They conveniently have a 21 pin connector that mates with either the TCS WOW121-Steam sound decoder SKU 1525 or the TCS EU621 SKU 1344 21 pin conventional decoder (not included). Each motherboard comes with TCS onboard Keep Alive TM that will provide stall free operation over troublesome track sections.

These Motherboards eliminate the wad of wire that gets in the way with many decoder installations and makes for a much cleaner and better fitting decoder installation. On sound decoder installations the lack of excess wire also improves the sound quality eliminating the rattle that sometimes accompany crowded sound installations.

Simply unsolder the original circuit board, remove 2 screws then replace with the TCS Motherboard, solder a few connections, plug in the decoder and go. No more fighting to get the tender shell back on.

Train Control Systems 8 ohm WOW-Speakers

Train Control Systems (TCS) has just announced the addition of speakers to their product line. With our WOWSound decoder we know we have the finest sound decoder in the industry, so it follows we need the finest line of WOWSpeakers to go with them!

TCS took painstaking care in establishing its speakers, refusing to release sub-standard speakers, we waited until we could bring to market these WOWSpeakers. These speakers sound richer and fuller than any other decoder speaker on the market.

Pick one up and find out how great your WOWSound can really sound!

New N Scale Drop-In Decoders

TCS has announced two new motor decoders for their N Scale Intermountain drop-in line.  The new models fit the current run of F units that have a new design circuit board without the motor contact feet that were unique to prior runs of the model.

Team Digital DCCBreak Digital Circuit Breaker

Team Digital has announced the DCCBreak digital circuit breaker.  The DCCBreak features timed start-up so that you can control how the layout is energized on start-up.

SBS4DCC is now stocking the full Team Digital product line to offer you a great product and quick delivery at a great price.  All products should be in stock by next week.

Zimo MX658N18 Sound Decoder

The small size, excellent features, and reknowned Zimo motor control make this decoder a great solution for your Next18 applications.

Use this handy portable tool to keep your servos centered while you mount them under the layout.

The tool consists of a battery box connected to a small circuit board that continuously puts out a centering signal for the servo (1.5 ms pulse).

Keeping your servos properly centered while mounting is the key to making the servos work best.

The battery box has an on/off switch to save your batteries when not in use.

Everyone using servos for turnouts needs one of these.

Requires 3 AA batteries.
