Bridgton Recreation Advancement Group was founded in 1997 in response to growing community interest in developing recreational facilities and programs. Since then, our volunteer organization has worked alongside numerous local groups to establish gymnasiums, sponsor Pondicherry Days' Iron Kid competition, run the annual 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, and build the Bridgton Skate Park.
BRAG's most amazing project to date is the Bridgton Community Recreation Complex, which will feature lighted fields for football, soccer, bocce ball, softball, and baseball, with tennis courts, basketball courts and a walking path that will circle the entire complex. Learn more (and see the map) in our Recreation Complex section!

The Rufus Porter Museum was founded in 2005 to celebrate the life of Rufus Porter (1792-1884), a painter, inventor, musician, and writer. The museum began by preserving and exhibiting Rufus Porter Style wall murals, and since has expanded to encompass Porter? other accomplishments, and to promote the preservation of early 19th Century Maine and New England culture for future generations. We invite you to share in Porter's uniquely American blend of creativity, ingenuity, practicality, and energy by coming to explore Rufus Porter's era through the museum.

2015 Bridgton Hospital HEROES

During a recent ceremony at Bridgton Hospital, administration, management and employees paid tribute to five fellow employees that have consistently performed above expectations while also making significant contributions to their communities.

The HEROES (Healthcare Employees Reaching Out with Exceptional Service) Award was established several years ago by the Central Maine Medical Family to acknowledge outstanding employees at Central Maine Medical Center, Bridgton Hospital and Rumford Hospital. The awards are presented annually. Bridgton Hospital announced its roster of HEROES in July.

"The HEROES Award recognizes staff members who demonstrate the Central Maine Medical Family mission by providing, with expertise, commitment and compassion, exceptional healthcare services in a safe and trustful environment," said David Frum, President of Bridgton and Rumford Hospitals. To be recognized as one of the organization's HEROES, an employee must be nominated by a fellow employee through a formal review process.

During the eighth annual celebration, Susan Cobb, Central Registration, Carol Miller, Food Service Manager, Amy Dugas, Naples Practice Manager, Gloria Morris, Respiratory, and Erinn Wright, M.D., were honored for their compassion, citizenship, integrity, service, excellence and commitment. The HEROES were feted with an afternoon social and received glass trophies. Their names will be added to a slate plaque beside the main entrance of the hospital.
