Legend states that Hippocrates taught medicine under the branches of a sycamore tree.
To honor that legacy, Archangel Ancient Tree Archive and the National Institute of Health (NIH) have partnered to provide a direct descendant from the original tree, which has been planted on the grounds of the U-M North Campus Research Complex (NCRC).

Clinical Research Billing

Research Billing Issues:

Charges moving through Revenue Cycle Research Billing have declined. Root cause analysis is underway to determine the cauAudit ITse. We believe some of the charges are bypassing review and going directly to your study accounts.

Please pay close attention and let us know if your account is charged in error; CRBIssues-help.

Account Reconciliation:

Report2Web has been updated. We heard from our Research Teams that R2W did not match the project grant SOA.

Charges that posted late were not captured by R2W due to flawed report logic. It has been corrected. Please keep us posted.

How to Reconcile Research Patient Charges:

Wendi E. Schumacher of the CRAO and Sarah K. Weathers of the Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office (CTO) have combined their magical reconciling powers to create a presentation on Patient Charge Reconciliation. Check it out here: How to Reconcile Study Accounts!

Of Note
Quality Month Recognition

We are very proud that CRAO & RCRB's (Revenue Cycle Research Billing) presented a poster for Quality Month.

Our two groups were recognized along with other teams at an Awards Ceremony this past October.

The poster represented a collaborative effort incorporating Lean in our daily work by both groups.

The goal of our teams is to reduce Clinical Research Participant billing errors, reduce Administrative burden on Study Teams and create the ideal Patient experience for our Research Participants!
