DHS Shares Scholarship Details for Home Providers
T.E.A.C.H. accepting scholarship applications

Please accept our apologies, the message you received last week regarding T.E.A.C.H. was intended for child care centers. Below is information specific to Child Development Homes.

Dear Child Development Home Provider,

T.E.A.C.H. (Teacher Education and Compensation Helps) Early ChildhoodŽ IOWA is a scholarship program that assists childcare providers across the state as they increase their professional development by attending college and/or earning CDA (Child Development Associate) credentials.

Making the decision to go to college is a big one.
  • How do you know if it's right for you?
  • Have you exhausted local training opportunities?
  • Do you need new ideas for your program?
  • Are you interested in earning points for quality initiatives like QRS or meeting accreditation standards?
  • Do you think that a degree in early childhood would help market your program or prepare you for future career changes?
Going to college fulfills your DHS training requirement. 100% of T.E.A.C.H. recipients would recommend the program to someone else. "It feels so good to be finished with my degree! I remember when I was nervous to start and thought it would never happen! Thank you for all your help!" - home provider and T.E.A.C.H. graduate

T.E.A.C.H. scholarships are available for:
  • CDA Assessment fee
  • CDA Renewal (one 3 credit class)
  • One class model to support Child Health Safety and Nutrition (5 points on the QRS and fulfills the DHS Essentials Preservice requirement)
  • Coursework leading to CDA credentials, certificates, diplomas and Associate degrees
  • Coursework leading to Bachelor degrees, teaching licenses and/or EC Endorsements for existing teaching licenses
  • Teacher license renewal
T.E.A.C.H. would love to have the opportunity to talk with you more about your professional development goals and discuss the options available to you. For more information visit their website, email teach@iowaaeyc.org, or give them a call at 515-331-8000 or 1-800-469-2392.
