North Florida Junior Amateur Results!
Greetings!

The North Florida Junior Amateur was held this past Monday and Tuesday at the world renowned World Golf Village - Slammer and the Squire and was the first leg of the final three Major events of the NFJG TOUR 2014-12015 season. These three majors represent some the toughest golf on some of the most demanding golf courses on the TOUR trail. Concur one, two or all three of these events and you can certainly say that you are the "ELITE of the ELITE" in junior golf in the North Florida arena.

Leg two coming up this Monday is the "The Greater Jacksonville Junior Championship being hosted at the newly renovated Atlantic Beach Country Club, a test of a true champion. The third and final leg will be The TOUR Championship being played at Marsh Landing Country Club and Glen Kernan Country Club. Champions in these events will hoist some of the most prestigious trophies ever presented in NFJG TOUR history. Come one, come all.

The North Florida Junior Amateur brought together 72 of Jacksonville's finest junior competitors. During the two days of play is wasn't just the toughness or demanding shot making of the Slammer and Squire one had to battle, but players had to battle the ever rising temperatures with heat indexes reaching into the 100's. As we all know golf is an endurance sport and this was a good test in more ways than one.

The Slammer was in awesome condition and yielded birdies and eagles alike while dishing out punishment for those who attacked from the wrong advantage point. Ask Chase Carroll about his day after round one and you would receive a recap of some really great golf. Some fortunate and some unfortunate bounces. One of Carroll's many highlights would be fortunate, as he carded an "EAGLE" two on hole #10; how about Kyle Jewett who dominated the Boys 16-18 division once again with five consecutive birdies and two rounds under par; or Sarah May who made her return to the NFJG TOUR from a busy golf schedule at the right moment; or Dragon Theam who likes his scores posted in "RED" and finally young Phillip Dunham who continues his outstanding play.

As always, many thanks to the parents and grandparents who sweated it out In more ways than one to watch their junior players in the heat of competition.
