 ADULT-JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP (Gross)
Deereek Country Club, headed up by General Manager Nicola Fulford and Head PGA Professional Tom Maxwell was in fantastic condition and a treat to play. As I mentioned in previous emails, it is one of the toughest courses around and it can certainly beat you up a little when you take on the risk-reward challenges. On the other hand, the course also rewards you when you hit great shots, reaping the reward of taking chances with aggressive play. Kandance and Eddie Phomvongsa (upper left) took those chances and they all paid off this time. How about driving the ball over the greenside water hazard from the ladies tee box on hole #2 setting up a short birdie chip or driving the 12th green (putting for eagle) or making an eagle on the par 5 fifth hole. That's just a few of the accomplishments the winning team achieved in bringing home the championship trophy with a gross score of 62, nine under par. One stroke ahead of Team Jairus Perry and Tanner Tipton (63) (upper right). Great job TEAM!

Thank You Partners! Thanks to our many partners, sponsors and supporters everyone managed to take home something of value, from dozens of balls, umbrella's to NFJG TOUR shirts. Ben Donlick was one of the lucky BIG winners as his name was drawn for the Bag Boy pull-cart and Aiden Clark who walked away with a nice Cleveland wedge. The Champions and Runner-Ups took home a Champions trophy, a Callaway golf bag, dozen balls and a NFJG TOUR Shirt. |
ADULT-JUNIOR NET CHAMPIONSHIP On the NET side of the Championship, it was yet again another tight battle for the trophy and bragging rights. When all the scores were in we were tied atop the leaderboard with a pair of 57's. The tie between Jack and John Brophy (lower right) and Alexander and Glynn Waller (upper right) had to be determined and a scorecard play-off then ensued. Using the USGA recommended tie breaker (ba ck nine total) the Champions were decided and team Waller would come out on top one stroke ahead of team Brophy who also tied for the championship in last year's Gator Challenge at the University of Florida. Good job guys! |

Closest to the Pin Contests:
Our proximity contests were won by Jim Wingo on hole #3, Alexander McLauchlan on hole #11, George Kerner on hole #15 and Ben Dryden, who almost ACED #6 as the ball took one hop in front of the pin, hit the flag-stick mid-way, climbed the pin to the top of the flag dropping and then settling one foot from the front of the hole. Great shots guys. You each won a dozen balls.
