Can Muslims Serve Faithfully in the U.S. Military?

This particular subject has been avoided by most journalists who write and report on Islamic issues. There is an enormous amount of justification for avoiding this touchy and politically incorrect subject. It is a taboo subject in the journalistic world. Discussing our troops in the time of war and possibly pointing out deficiencies is again simply a no go zone.
To write about this subject it is my opinion one must be qualified to do so. I feel I am qualified and should write an article for readers to ponder about Muslims in our armed forces. Why am I qualified? I served over 20 years on active duty with the USAF and travelled all across the world meeting Muslim people from all areas of the earth. While with the USAF I was an AFOSI military Special Agent for 12 years. This gave me an opportunity to interact with numerous Muslims to discuss issues like Sharia law and our U.S. Constitution. After retiring from the USAF I returned to the government as a civilian U.S. Federal Agent, trained at the U.S. State Department in an intensive one year Arabic language program and had the opportunity to serve in Iraq at the start of the war in 2003. This gave me the opportunity to interview literally thousands of Iraqis and Iranians. Many of these people were enemy of prisoners of war and were very loyal to Islam and Sharia law.
Since retiring from the government in late 2003, I have conducted high profile counter-terrorism research inside America. I personally visited over 250 mosques and Islamic centers in our country. In 2007/2008 I was the Director of the 'Mapping Sharia Project' and put five non Muslims inside the belly of the beast (CAIR) for 6 months. I have been undercover for months at a time in mosques and had four pseudo conversions to Islam with several high profile Islamic leaders as my witness to the conversions. This provided me valuable insight into discussing with America's Islamic leaders and mainstream Muslims their opinions on serving both Sharia law and the U.S. Constitution. In addition I have reviewed thousands of Islamic books and DVD's on all topics within Islam. You decide if I am qualified to approach the taboo subject of Muslims serving in the U.S. military.
In 2008 I met an Islamic leader at a mosque in Knoxville, TN. We talked for over 3 hours about Muslims serving in our military. This Islamic leader summarized all of my research and the ultimate conclusion that Islam & Sharia law are not compatible with the U.S. Constitution. The purpose of our military is to secure the citizens of America and preserve the U.S. Constitution. If one can't put the Constitution above Sharia law, the one and only answer is they can't serve faithfully in the U.S. armed services.
The Islamic leader from Nashville confided in me that there are thousands of Muslims in the U.S. military, and they fall into three categories:
1: They are Muslim but not Sharia compliant and therefore serve the U.S. military faithfully.
2: They are Muslim and put Sharia law above the U.S. Constitution. They are serving in the military simply for a paycheck, as even many non Muslims do.
3: There are Muslims who are very Sharia compliant and serve in the U.S. military to obtain training they can use in later 'Jihad' attacks against America and Israel.
Another disturbing point the Islamic leader discussed with me is that there are Muslims serving in the military and they have carried out murders against their fellow servicemen. He advised many of the friendly fire incidents in Iraq and Afghanistan were in actuality murders (yes I reported this to law enforcement).
Synopsis: One cannot be a Muslim and Sharia compliant and serve faithfully in the U.S. military. This conclusion is backed by the words of numerous Islamic leaders worldwide and many from America.
