Shrove Tuesday - Pancake Supper!
Because people were unable to get to church on Sunday, we didn't get the chance to remind everyone that our annual pancake supper is scheduled for tomorrow night, February 12th. Our youth group is ready and willing to make delicious pancakes for us all at 6 pm. Your price of admission is to bring a favorite topping to share - fruit, special sauces or good old syrup and butter. Following the feast, we'll have a brief burning bowl ceremony, at which we can release to God those things we'd like to let go of as Lent begins.
RSVP is required. If you'd like to come for pancakes on Tuesday, email Elsa or call her at 203-984-2906. Because of all the snow, the youth group will be waiting to hear if anyone is planning on coming before they purchase and prepare pancakes.

Ash Wednesday, February 13th
There are two ways to mark the first day of Lent:
Ashes to Go:
Come down to the bus stop in front of Starbucks on Wednesday between 2:30 and 4 where Elsa and Louise and Deacon Diane will be distributing ashes. Hopefully the sidewalk will have been cleared by then and they'll be able to find a spot open enough to stand in somewhere in the vicinity!
Ash Wednesday Service:
At the church at 7 pm - a solemn and simple service of prayer with communion.
