A Personal Message

Thank God for some rain.  I was beginning to lose some of my plants and flowers even though I fought hard to keep them alive.

We went to my niece's wedding in Northern England and it was lots of fun. This was not a traditional wedding at all.  She got married in a registry office (the formal part of the wedding) with only family and very close friends.  A great dinner was held at an English restaurant and then the next day we moved to a hiking hostel (they are avid hikers).  We helped prepare a wine and cheese where all the hikers attended as well and stayed there for  two nights.  Then we hiked up a mountain in the rain with my neice in her wedding dress, the groom in his suit, and the bridesmaids in their dresses with hiking shoes.  It was quite a hike for us old timers but we made it.  There was a mock ceremony at the top of the mountain with champagne toasts. Then back down the other side of the mountain.  It is something we will never experience again for sure.

Then we moved on to Scotland - Brian and I, and my brother and his wife (who had broken her foot before we left).  That was very interesting as well.  We spent a week in Scotland and then returned home.  Rudy missed us but was fine as a friend stayed right here in the house with him for us so we could go.

Now time to get the kids ready for school and back to normal life (if there is any such thing as a normal life this year).  It felt good to come home and I was happy to see some green grass again, and of course my baby - Rudy.

We missed the Hip concert but watched it on TV last night.  I personally  have never been a big fan of the Hip and their music, but still wish Gordon well.

September is going to be a busy month again.  There seems to be no slowing down time this year, and the year will be over before we know it.

As to my personal advice this month, be grateful for where you live, what you have, whom you love, and for yourself.  Remember only you can take care of you and give yourself what you need.  Do it and don't let anyone stop you. You deserve it just as much as everyone else.

Take some time each day to do one little thing for yourself that you love or enjoy.  Then watch what a difference it makes in your energy level.

THE SOUL LOVES THE TRUTH

This is a great book written by Denise Linn the creator of Soul Coaching.  If you want to learn about how we hurt ourselves when we don't tell the truth, this is a good read.  Can be purchased from Chapters for approximately   $17.00.

REMAINING PEACEFUL IN A NON PEACEFUL WORLD.

Let's begin with why we are not peaceful.  We are all born with an inner state of peace and happiness but we ourselves destroy that with out worry, our fear, our anger, our anxiety and our resentments.  Each time we get stuck in one of these negative emotions we lose a little more of our inner peace, and it is not always easy to get it back.

Let's face it right now each and every one of us is living in a non peaceful world.  Some of it is of our own doing and some of it is from those around us.  It seems to me that the majority of people are going through major challenges in their lives in some way this year. Each of us is different and each of us has different challenges.  But our peace seems to be non existent.  What can we do, you ask?  We must realize that we are being given a chance to release what no longer serves our soul's journey.  Painful sometimes but necessary.

One of the things we can do is take a few minutes every day to meditate or just to breathe.  Many people are afraid of meditation so let's make it simple.  What if every morning you just sat for 5 minutes and breathed deeply into your belly and on the inhale said "peace in" and on the exhale you said "stress out".  This would help start the day in a more peaceful way.  Don't sleep in and have to rush to start your day.  Get up a little bit earlier so you have time to do the breathing exercise, or meditate if you choose  or just sit and enjoy your morning coffee.  This is one thing I like to do to begin my day - I froth my milk for my coffee and enjoy that first cup in bed slowly.  It helps me start the day calmly.

When others are in conflict, or gossiping about someone, don't say a word.  You can listen, but inside just say to yourself "this is not my experience".  Don't participate in the conversation.  Put a shield around yourself and tune out.  When we gossip or fight with someone, it only escalates everything that is negative and causes us to lose our peace.  My grandson and I were arguing the other day and I just said stop talking - I don't want to talk anymore.  We sat in silence for a few minutes and then things calmed down and became more peaceful.  It gave each of us a few minutes to breathe and calm down.  Try it out sometime - it worked for me.

When you get up in the morning script your day.  Decide that you will live this day in peace no matter what goes on around you.  Visualize what you think is going to happen this day or the things you have to accomplish, and see yourself doing it peacefully and calmly.  See everything going well and all chores accomplished with ease and calmness.  See your interactions with others going well with peace and calmness as well.  This sets the tone for the day and helps you remember to remind yourself to stay calm.  Set the intention to stay peaceful and if you find yourself being pulled off or losing your sense of calm, bring yourself back and set that intention again.  Intention and energy are extremely intertwined so keep them aligned.

If you have Reiki, send peace out into the world every day just for a few minutes a day.  Perhaps send peace and calm to yourself, you family, your city, your country and the world. If you don't have Reiki, just think about sending peaceful thoughts out into the world.  Remember we are all connected and what you put out there in thoughts and feelings is felt by others and will come back to you.  When you see an unpeaceful scene on TV or in the news, take a few minutes and send peace to the situation and the world again.  Do it regularly.

To be peaceful and remain so, we have to set the intention to be peaceful, imagine it happening, believe it can happen, give our energy to it happening and walk away from or don't participate in non peaceful conversations and situations.  Turn off that TV news and put something more happy or funny on or something like uplifting music.  And breathe - one of the messages I used to receive from the angels a lots is "just breathe".  And I mean breathe deeply into the belly and not the chest.  Breathe in fresh air - get outside in this beautiful weather and go for a walk and breathe.  Watch your peace return.  It won't be perfect and someone will always pull you off, but it can make a huge difference in your sense of calmness and peace.

I AM ONE

As I am slowly clearing out old files I came upon this message  and thought I would share it with you.

I am only one, but I am one,
I cannot do everything,
But I can do something
And I will not let what I cannot do,
Interfere with what I can do.

It reminds me that each and everyone of us has a part in the evolution of this world.  Often we live in a world where we are so controlled by thoughts of what we don't have and what we can't do that we forget what we can do and what we do have.  And remember we have so much more than most of the people in this world.  We have warm houses, food to eat, clothes to wear, jobs to go to and people who love us.  We have clear water, safe cities and beautiful stars and moons that we can actually see.

Perhaps we don't have everything we want, but we have everything we need.  And we have enough  that we can share and make a difference in the lives of others who have less.  This can happen in many forms.  We can donate money if we have it.  We can donate our time to drive someone somewhere, pick someone up, cut and old person's lawn for them, take them food when they are sick, visit someone who is lonely, give a treatment to someone who needs it and can't afford it, and on it goes.

I could write a book but we are each individual and we each see need in our own way.  When we look beyond our own needs and see what is needed we can help. And we all have our own special gifts that we can use to help with.  Perhaps it is us that is in need too.  If we are in debt, a little bit every month eventually pays it off.  If we need to lose weight, we can get a buddy and do it together, pound by pound.  Support is always good and working in teams keeps you focused.

We can pick up garbage and make our city or our neighbourhood beautiful again.  We can clear our own clutter and give stuff to someone else who needs it or to your favorite charity.  Feed a hungry animal or person.  There are so many things we can do and if each and every one of us does a few little things, it amounts to a massive amount of little things which turns into a big deal and very large change.

So for this month of September, think about what you can do and do one thing every day no matter how small.  Stop thinking about how it doesn't really make a difference - it does.  Let's all do it together, and focus on how it does matter, even though small.  together we can make a huge difference.
