BRIDGE USA SUMMER FESTIVAL

This Sunday is the 21st Annual Bridge USA Summer Festival. This summer festival features delicious Japanese food, dance and performing arts, martial arts demonstrations, cultural exhibits and live music including Taiko drumming. There also will be more than 60 booths selling snacks, kimonos, souvenirs and other favorites. As always, the highlight of the event will be the traditional Mikoshi parade. The Community Services Department invites Torrance middle-schoolers to beat the heat at the first Co-Rec Swim Night of the summer. Swim in the Plunge's outdoor pool and then enjoy a yummy barbecue dinner. Swimsuits are required and no T-shirts, shorts or street clothes are allowed in the pool. Admission, including pool play and dinner, is $4 for Co-Rec members and $6 for guests. A Torrance middle school ID or fifth grade report card is mandatory for guest admission. Dive In...

Get excited about the Torrance Historical Society's 12th annual Rock Around the Block celebration! This 1950s-style event celebrates Torrance's All-America City Award, one of America's original and most prestigious community recognition awards. The City received this award for "growth without strain" back in the 1956. This free event will be held in front of the Torrance Historical Society & Museum. You'll have a chance to check out vintage cars on display, bop to 50s music, enjoy burgers and milkshakes from the In-N-Out burger wagon, and view Torrance Historical Society's huge collection of high school yearbooks.
