The Summer Reading Program for infants through elementary school students kicks off Monday, June 27 at all Torrance Library locations. WATCH THE WORK ZONE CAMERA
AT THE NEW TRANSIT CENTER SITE 
Work has begun at the site of the Torrance Transit Park and Ride Regional Terminal. The construction of this facility will reduce single occupancy vehicle trips due to its close proximity to the I-405 and I-110 and its park and ride facilities. In addition the Transit Terminal will improve regional mobility linking Torrance Transit routes with other regional providers in the Transit Terminal. MOVIES IN THE PARK - THE LEGO MOVIE

The Torrance Community Services Department and the Torrance Homeowners Association are excited to sponsor this summer's Movies in the Park series. This Saturday there will be a free screening of "The Lego Movie" at McMaster Park beginning at dusk (approximately 8 p.m.). Wear warm clothes and bring your own blankets, lawn chairs and snacks for the best movie watching experience. For anyone wanting activities to keep the kids busy, our Community Services Department has some fun programs at City parks, including Fun in the Sun and the Carpenter Wagon. Find Your Fun...

There also are some spots still available for Torrance Summer Camps. These will be in session Monday, June 27 to Friday, Sept. 2 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Fees range from $130 to $155 per week and include crafts, outdoor games, walking field trips, and an off-site excursion. Summer Day Camps will be held at Greenwood Park, La Romeria Park and Wilson Park. Extended care will be available for an additional fee.

Take a walk through Madrona Marsh and sketch plants and animals as inspiration for beautiful greeting card designs. After the nature walk, Estelle will teach you how to make your sketches come to life with a little color. The class costs $5 per participant and all card-making materials will be provided.  We are excited to announce that the City of Torrance 4th of July Fireworks Show is back after a 5 year hiatus! The show will take place Monday, July 4, in the Civic Center Plaza. The internal Civic Center parking lot will be closed for the firework launch. Seating will be available at Toyota Sports Complex and the Los Angeles County Courthouse Parking Lot (Maple Avenue, north of Torrance Blvd.) Free tickets will be required for the Toyota Sports Complex viewing area. They are available for pick up at  the Cultural Arts Center Box Office (Tuesday through Friday 1 - 8 p.m.; Saturday Noon to 8 p.m.) or in the Community Services Department, located in the West Annex of City Hall (Monday - Thursday , and alternating Fridays 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.).

The West High Swap Meet is held on the fourth Saturday of every month except December. Vendor spaces are available on a first-come, first-serve basis for family yard sales, student groups, and local businesses to sell their goods.
