The Summer Reading Program for infants through elementary school students started this week at all Torrance Library locations. The City of Torrance wishes everyone a safe and fun 4th of July weekend. City Hall and all Torrance Libraries will be closed Monday, July 4, 2016 in observance of Independence Day. 
A Friendly Reminder...
In anticipation of the holiday, the City of Torrance reminds everyone that it is against the law to possess, store, offer for sale, expose for sale, sell at retail, give, furnish, use or explode any fireworks in the City of Torrance, including those fireworks defined in the California Health and Safety Code as safe and sane fireworks.  
CITY OF TORRANCE 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS SHOW 
MONDAY,  JULY 4 | 9 P.M.
TORRANCE CIVIC CENTER
(ALL TOYOTA SPORTS COMPLEX TICKETS ARE DISTRIBUTED) 
We are excited to announce that the City of Torrance 4th of July Fireworks Show is back after a five-year hiatus! The show will take place at 9 p.m. in the Civic Center Plaza. The internal Civic Center parking lot will be closed for the launching of the fireworks. The show will last approximately 20 minutes and will feature a patriotic soundtrack. First-come, first-served seating will be available at the Los Angeles County Courthouse Parking Lot (Maple Avenue, north of Torrance Blvd) starting at 7 p.m. 
All tickets have been distributed for the Toyota Sports Complex viewing area.
Tickets will be required to access the Toyota Sports Complex viewing area, which opens at 7 p.m. and closes 30 minutes after the end of the show. There will be street closures and traffic impacts in the area. Get All the Details...

Looking for activities to keep the kids busy over the summer? The Community Services Department has some free programs at City parks, including Fun in the Sun and the Carpenter Wagon. Find Your Fun...
There also are some spots still available for Torrance Summer Camps. These will be in session Monday, June 27 to Friday, Sept. 2 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Fees range from $130 to $155 per week and include crafts, outdoor games, walking field trips, and an off-site excursion. Summer Day Camps will be held at Greenwood Park, La Romeria Park and Wilson Park. Extended care will be available for an additional fee.
