The Torrance City Council will host its second budget workshop on the 2016-2017 proposed operating budget. The workshop will take place as part of regularly scheduled council meeting. At the meeting, residents and local businesses are invited to provide input on the budget.

Automotive enthusiasts are invited to enjoy a day of hot rods, classic cars, great food, and live entertainment at the 11th Annual Edelbrock Car Show. All makes and models of vehicles are welcome and interested car show participants can register the day of the show for $40 per car or $100 for a VIP spot. The show is free for spectators. Aftermarket manufacturers will also attend and exhibit their products. Don't miss the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge, where teams of high school students from all over Southern California race to tear down and rebuild an engine in a timed and judged competition. Torrance honors the men and women of our nation's military with a three-day Armed Forces Day celebration.

Traffic impacts:
There are events all three days of the weekend, but this year, with Saturday's 5K Run/Walk in the morning and the parade in the afternoon, road closures and traffic impacts in the area of the parade route will be in affect most of the day.
