As part of the 2016 Armed Forces Day Celebrations in the City of Torrance, the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce will host a 5k Run/Walk on Saturday, May 21. Participants are encouraged to register before May 1 for a $5 discount. This fun run is sure to be a highlight among the many exciting activities during the three days of Armed Forces Day events in Torrance.

LOCAL BUSINESSES HONORED AT
9TH ANNUAL TORRANCE ADVANTAGE AWARDS 
On Thursday, March 31, 2016, the City of Torrance Office of Economic Development honored local businesses for innovative economic development strategies for the year 2015. Winners were announced and recognized at the ninth annual Torrance Advantage Awards ceremony held at Strand Brewing Co. in Torrance. Winners received a Torrance Advantage Award crystal trophy, $200 to help with basic operating expenses, a letter of recognition from the Mayor of Torrance and certificates from other elected officials. 
In its ninth year, the City of Torrance developed the Torrance Advantage Awards to recognize innovative economic development strategies of local significance and to say thank you to the invaluable contributions of Torrance businesses to Torrance's strong economy. See the Winners...
