Learn about Torrance's Storm Water Enhancement Project and the benefits that the Henrietta Basin provides our City including providing natural treatment systems, improving infiltration and groundwater recharge, and driving habitat restoration at Madrona Marsh. Apply sunscreen, bring binoculars and wear close-toed shoes for the best experience on the walk. MARTIN SERNA NAMED NEWEST
CHIEF OF TORRANCE FIRE DEPARTMENT 
Torrance City Manager, LeRoy J. Jackson is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Serna as the City's new Fire Chief.  Since starting his career in 1993 as an entry level firefighter at the Torrance Fire Department, Martin Serna has risen through the ranks of Fire Engineer, Fire Captain, Battalion Chief and Assistant Fire Chief before becoming the ninth Fire Chief of the City of Torrance. Serna was chosen from a field of eight internal applicants. According to Jackson, Serna was chosen out of an outstanding selection of candidates because, "He demonstrates good leadership and expertise, he has a great vision for defining the future of the Fire Department."
