REGISTER FOR THE TURKEY TROT

Registration is open for the 36th Annual Harry Sutter Memorial Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot Fun Run. The run will take place Thursday, Nov. 26, and begins at 8 a.m. at the Sam's Club parking lot. Register online or fill out an entry form and mail or walk it in to the Torrance Community Services Department by Nov. 20 to meet the regular registration deadline. THE CITY OF TORRANCE THANKS ALL  
U.S. MILITARY VETERANS  
FOR THEIR SERVICE TO OUR NATION

This week is United States Military Veterans Week. The City of Torrance will recognize our United States Military Veterans with a week-long celebration beginning Nov. 5 and ending Nov. 11. There will be several events to thank and honor our Veterans. City Hall and all Torrance Libraries will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day.

HONORING OUR HOMETOWN HEROES   
The Hometown Heroes Military Banner Recognition Program recognizes Torrance's men and women in uniform who are currently serving in the Armed Forces, veterans who have served in the past, or veterans of the past who are now deceased. These banners are displayed along Torrance Boulevard during Armed Forces week, but you can also  View the Banners Online... 
 
VIETNAM VETERANS VIRTUAL WALL  
The Virtual Wall of Faces features a page for every person whose name is on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. These pages allow family and friends to share memories, post pictures and connect with each other. Commemorate Torrance's Vietnam Veterans...


TORRANCE VETERANS MEMORIAL WALL 
The City of Torrance has a Veterans Memorial Wall located at the corner of Torrance Boulevard and Maple Avenue. The names of Torrance residents who have died in battle are engraved in the memorial in eternal remembrance and gratitude for their sacrifice. Visit the memorial to honor the men and women from our community who made the greatest sacrifice for our country.

2015 is a significant year, as it marks the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII and the 50th anniversary since U.S. ground troops arrived in Vietnam. The community is invited to join the Torrance Historical Society to honor our veterans. Pull-up a chair and visit with a Veteran of World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam, the Gulf War, Iraq, or Afghanistan. Thank Our Community's Veterans...

The Western Museum of Flight is a local resource that presents our citizens with the history and inspirational future of the industries that provide the tools our troops need.
