Thanks to a special grant from the California State Library, the Friends of the Torrance Library will host a screening of "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World." The film stars Russell Crowe as Captain Jack Aubrey, leading an English crew at war on the high seas. The City of Torrance Community Services Department invites the public to enjoy the annual Halloween Carnival on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Wilson Park, 2200 Crenshaw Blvd. The costume parade will take place at 6:30 p.m. The Carnival is a safe, family friendly alternative to trick-or-treating. It will feature games, crafts, face painting, a photo area, spooky music by DJ Ozzie, a costume parade and much more! Unlimited-use wristbands are $9 per child, and are required to participate in carnival activities. Food trucks will be available at an additional charge. The event will take place, rain or shine. Dogs and other pets are not allowed at this event. Fun for All ...

The Antique Street Faire takes place on the fourth Sunday of every month when more than 200 vendors set up shop, lining the charming, village streets of Old Torrance to showcase and sell their unique and vintage finds.
