Drop by the Co-Rec Club's open house to check out the facility, meet the staff and purchase a membership. The Co-Rec Club is a co-ed recreation program that organizes dances and activities for middle school students. Events are held twice a month on Friday nights at the Ken Miller Recreation Center, and are exclusive to members. Membership is $15 and lasts from September 2015 to August 2016. A middle school ID card or a printout of a current schedule is mandatory for membership and admission. Join the Club...

MAYOR PATRICK J. FUREY UNVEILS A FEW SURPRISES
DURING TODAY'S 2015 STATE OF THE CITY ADDRESS
Mayor Patrick J. Furey, during his State of the City address, surprised the audience by announcing the return of a 4th of July fireworks show next year. At the luncheon, Torrance CitiCABLE presented an introductory video that highlights Torrance's economic development efforts.  
In his speech, Mayor Furey discussed developments in Torrance including the redevelopment at Del Amo Fashion Center and Muller Co. building at the city's financial district. A veteran's celebration, Armed Forces Day 5k run, the Torrance Transit Park and Ride Regional Terminal, and a rubber-tire trolley service that would bring back the Red Car to Torrance were also discussed.
Mayor Furey's State of the City Address and CitiCABLE introductory video will be cablecast on Torrance CitiCABLE Channel 3 (Time Warner); 36 (Verizon); and over-the-air on channel 25.2 beginning Oct. 7 at 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 8 p.m.
