Torrance Theatre Company presents this long running off-Broadway absurdist comedy places Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso in a Parisian cafe in 1904, just before the scientist transformed physics with his theory of relativity and the painter set the art world afire with cubism. Bystanders, including Picasso's agent, the bartender and his mistress, Picasso's date, an elderly philosopher, and an idiot inventor introduce additional flourishes of humor. CINDY AND FRANK SCOTTO
WITH THE PRESTIGIOUS JARED SIDNEY TORRANCE AWARD
   

On Tuesday, May 5, 2015, during the regularly scheduled City Council meeting, Mayor Patrick J. Furey presented the Jared Sidney Torrance Award for lifetime commitment to the community to Cindy and Frank Scotto for their individual contributions to the City of Torrance. Frank Scotto served as Mayor of Torrance from 2006 to 2014, and as a Councilman for six years prior to that. Cindy and Frank Scotto were honored for their work in the community that has benefited groups including AYSO, Parent Teacher Association, Torrance Little League, South Bay Children's Center, the Torrance Cultural Arts Foundation, many other local arts groups, and other organizations.
