RECENT TESTS FIND WEST VILE VIRUS AT MADRONA MARSH
 

Routine tests found that two chickens in the coop at Madrona Marsh Preserve were positive for West Nile Virus (WNV). Tests are conducted by the Los Angeles County West Vector Control District. In response to the results, signs have been posted to alert visitors, and evening walks will be curtailed until further notice. Staff and Vector Control will continue to monitor the preserve for mosquito larvae and the presence of WNV. Click here for more about mosquitoes and WNV.

HERBALIFE TRIATHLON

The Herbalife Triathlon is about to begin! On Saturday, September 20 there will be a Triathlon LAB Health and Fitness Expo at the Torrance Marriott from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Unless you are registered as a VIP, participants are required to pick up their event packets on this day at the Torrance Marriott South Bay (3635 Fashion Way). 

On Sunday, September 21, the Triathlon takes place in the Miramar Park/Hollywood Riviera areas, with competition distances that will include Olympic, Spring and Super Sprint; relays; two youth courses; and a 5K running race. For detailed routes, view the Swim, Bike, and Run Course Page
