The City of Torrance Community Services Department invites all Torrance Middle School students to join us for a Co-Rec Swim Night. The fun will begin in the 50 by 20 meter outdoor pool with a summer BBQ on the patio to complete the evening!  Swimsuits are required.  The admission fee includes entrance and dinner.  A Torrance 5th Grade report card, a Co-Rec or Torrance Middle school ID card is required for admission. Then join us for 5 informative classes occurring from Monday, July 14 through Friday, July 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Students will learn about nature and develop observation skills so that they can better understand the natural world. On Thursday, July 17th from 5 to 8 p.m. the Torrance Historical Society is hosting the 10th annual 1950s-style family summer event in celebration of Torrance's All-America City Award, one of America's original and most prestigious community recognition awards. 

 

The City received this award for "Growth Without Strain" back in the 1956 when Albert Isen was Mayor of Torrance. This free event is open to the public and will be held in front of the Torrance Historical Society & Museum (1345 Post Avenue). Jump Back In Time...
