The Torrance Municipal election is here! 

 

Remember to Vote on Tuesday, June 3 between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. The election is on the Statewide Direct Primary Election conducted by the Los Angeles County Registrar with a lot of important choices for the Torrance voter. Make sure to go to the very END OF YOUR BALLOT to choose those that you wish to represent you for the next four years. 

If you are confused about what to expect when you vote and how the election matters in your life watch helpful Video Vignettes to make things easier come time to vote. Candidates were invited to give voluntary statements and can be viewed on the Candidates Statements Page. We hope to challenge you, the voter, to make a more informed decision based on your observations and values.  If you have relied on others in the past we invite you to step inside to learn more.

JUNE 3RD ELECTION REMINDERS
 

 

Here are some important reminders to make sure your vote is counted!

  • All Vote By Mail ballots must be RECEIVED by 8:00 p.m.  
  • Mail Early to ensure the ballot arrives in Norwalk before 8:00p.m. on Tuesday, June 3
  • Or drop off at your Torrance precinct or anywhere in Los Angeles County.

CAN'T MAKE IT ON ELECTION DAY OR DID NOT RECEIVE A BALLOT OR WANT TO VOTE EARLY?

  

Voters can vote early before Election Day at the Registrar/Recorder Norwalk Headquarters as they will be open on weekends to accommodate early voting for the upcoming June 3, 2014 Statewide Direct Primary Election.

TUESDAY, JUNE 3, 2014 | 7:30 - 8:30 PM

The City Clerk invites you to attend an Election Night Event in Council Chamber to share your election experiences the "Torrance Way" by meeting the candidates (all have been invited), your neighbors, and city employees to watch the initial Vote By Mail results as a community when they are posted by the County Registrar's website. 

  • CitiCABLE will be present to interview before to going off for live remotes with candidates during the evening;

  • Stay tuned to CitiCABLE or Election Night results as they come from the County;

  • Learn more about the Election Processes including where and how the ballots are counted and reported.

FRIDAY FUN

FRIDAY, MAY 30, 2014 | 10 AM - NOON

MADRONA MARSH NATURE CENTER AND PRESERVE

"Friday Fun" is a hands-on program for preschoolers, ages 3-6 years and their parents or guardians. This program occurs at no charge every Friday of every month from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., but a $5 donation is requested. Best to register on Tuesday for that week's Friday Fun Program. This program will incorporate story time, science, art and a tour emphasizing the chosen topic. Some weeks there will be potting and other activities. The topics emphasize respect for all living things and prepare the children (and parents) to be good stewards of the planet. Pre-registration is required. Space is limited to 20 children. Join in on the Fun... 

NIGHT HIKE

SATURDAY, MAY 31, 2014 | 6:30 - 8:30 PM

MADRONA MARSH NATURE CENTER AND PRESERVE

Visit the Madrona Marsh Preserve as the sun sets and the day gradually changes into night. Observe and listen to the sounds of animals and insects as they begin their nightly activities. Come join us for this unique experience that will surely captivate each and every one. This walk is limited to the first 25 people who sign up. Pre-registration is required and costs $5 per person or $10 per family. Experience Something New...

 "TORRANCE GRAFFITI"

The City of Torrance is committed to maintaining a graffiti free community and therefore residents and business owners can call the City's graffiti hotline at 310-781-7149 and report incidents of graffiti. Graffiti that is reported to the City is removed within 24 hours at no cost to the property owner. General Services would also like to announce the availability of a FREE smart phone app for reporting graffiti in Torrance. The free app, named "Torrance Graffiti" is available for the iPhone on the  Itunes App Store and on Android devices through the  Google Play App Store.
