MULTI-USE SPORTS FIELDS GOUNDBREAKING

CITY SEEKS SPONSORS FOR DONOR WALL

On Monday, November 18, 2013, The City of Torrance broke ground on its new Multi-Use Sports Fields, located at 555 Maple Avenue. Mayor Frank Scotto announced the "kick-off of development." The new Multi-Use Sports Fields will be used during the July 2014 AYSO National Games which will be hosted in Torrance. Anticipated completion date is February 2014.

The state-of-the-art, 6.2 acre sports facility will feature synthetic turf and sports lighting for year-round playability. It will have the ability to be configured for soccer, football, lacrosse, rugby, and more!   The groundbreaking ceremony can be viewed on the City's YouTube Channel at: www.YouTube.com/TorranceCitiCABLE.

As more than 15,000 Torrance youth currently use City parks for sports practices and games, the demand for field space increases, especially as these activities are scheduled year round. The City of Torrance recognizes the marketing value of this new and exciting property and is launching a sponsorship program that will allow organizations and citizens to invest in the facility at a level to which they are most comfortable.  As a sponsor the individual or organization's name will be placed on the Donor Wall which will be constructed at the entrance to this complex.   For information or inquiries on becoming a sponsor, please contact the Office of Economic Development at (310) 618-5807 or EconomicDevelopment@TorranceCA.Gov.
